Songs of Averoigne: VII

Phillip A. Ellis

Translated from the French of Guillaume du Nord, 12/12/03, by Phillip A. Ellis.

Nightingales sing in the night,
blossoms waft their scent on breezes,
   ponds glimmer with soft moonlight,
nightingales sing in the night.
Like lamias’ eyes, the pools are bright,
the beauty of the scene seizes.
   Nightingales sing in the night,
blossoms waft their scent on breezes.
